Department Profile

We are a small volunteer department that serves an area of 1.7 square miles with a population of approximately 5,500 residents. The department averages 350 runs per year, most being calls for EMS service. We also respond to structure fires, alarms, car accidents, hazardous material incidents, as well as water rescue runs. We operate out of one station with one engine, one reserve engine, one rescue, a Battalion vehicle, and staff car. We staff 2 personnel Monday through Friday from 11a.m. until 7p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8a.m. until 4p.m. as paid stand-by to help supplement coverage. Our volunteer home response personnel cover all other time. We also have begun an overnight program. Members are required to work a preset number of shifts overnight were they stay at the firehouse. This allows us to open the residency restrictions and allows members to be on the department who don’t live in the general area.
