Status Reports
Revised Requisition List
Maribeth distributes the updated list prepared by Jim Lasiter. This has been posted to our web site. We need to raise another $80,000.00 to finish Proctor Park.
Eagle Scout Project
We have received word from the Center Grove Scout that he will not be able to do the concrete work as his Eagle Scout Project. Maribeth is hopeful that he will consider another project involving Proctor Park. She has asked him to consider mailing letters to all of the individuals who have ordered bricks for the park and ask them to submit a short biography with information on the person they ordered the brick for. We would like to create a book with these stories in it so that we can keep not only these heroes names alive but their stories as well. Maribeth asks that if anyone knows of a group that would be interested in spearheading this project, please have them contact her.
Memorial Brick for Sgt. Gary Henry
Frank Vaughn is working on getting information on what the family would like on a brick.
Brick Sales
After much discussion it is decided to permanently reduce the cost of the bricks. The goal of this committee is have someone’s name on every brick at Proctor Park. Due to the economic conditions we have decided to lower the cost of the pavers as follows:
4 X 8 bricks with 2 lines (16 characters each) of engraving will be $50.00.
8 X 8 bricks with 4 lines (16 characters each) of engraving will be $100.00.
Graphics will remain $25.00 each.
There will be no price change at this time for Memory Stones or Benches. This action passed unanimously.
Support Flags
Maribeth plans to mail Eddie Proctor’s flag on Tuesday, September 23rd. She has purchased 6 additional flags and will start gathering signatures on one for Eddie Proctor Jr. who is currently serving in Afghanistan. Charlie Linville, Todd Clayton and Nick

WCHS Homecoming
The WCHS Honor Society has volunteered to help man our table at the game. Sue Galloway will be working at a table for the Middle School Honor Society that night and will oversee our table as well. We will have brick order forms, t-shirts & dog tags and have been approved to collect donations in the stands. Sue will pick up the items on Thursday, September 25th. We also discussed selling cotton candy. Maribeth will check on the cost of renting a cotton candy machine.
Cub Scout Rummage Sale – October 18th
Mike & Stacy Lingenfelter are coordinating this once again. Cub Scout Pack 210 will be sponsoring the sale. We will set up for the sale on Friday night; October 17th between 6 – 8 p.m. and the sale will be Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. All proceeds go to Proctor Park. Fliers are distributed to be displayed throughout the county. Southpointe Church will be assisting with the sale and may possibly sell hotdogs and sodas. They may have information available about their church and about the school’s Fast Track program. The Blood Bank has a scheduling conflict and will not be here that day. The Girl Scouts from Pleasant Crossing Elementary School will be helping with the sale also. Stacy Lingenfelter has submitted a letter to Wal-Mart asking that they match any monies raised during this event.
Charity Ride 2009

Dedication Ceremony
Stella Owen has asked if we will have a Dedication Ceremony for the Heroes Section. Maribeth says all of the walking trails would need to be completed before this could be contemplated. Members suggest some kind of celebration or open house at the park to dedicate the Heroes Section when the park is completed.
Meeting Schedule
There is not another meeting scheduled at the time. We will meet in October but the time and date have not yet been determined.
Being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Maribeth Alspach
