OLD BUSINESS:
VARIANCE 08-V-02 Michael & Debra Hazeltine 12 Bel Aire Drive
Mr. Hazeltine wants to replace a gravel driveway with concrete. He and his wife have been upgrading their property. This is a circular driveway that is currently gravel. Rudy states they are seeking a variance in order to allow two street cuts on Bel Aire Drive.
Stephen Watson reviewed the standards for a variance. Jeff opened the floor for a motion to grant or deny the variance. Laura motioned to grant the variance. Rudy seconded the motion. Vote was 4 affirmative. This dimensional variance runs with the property. Tim Guyer reminds Mr. & Mrs. Hazeltine that they still need to apply for a building permit before beginning construction.

NEW BUSINESS:
VARIANCE 09-V-01 William & Betty Sample 518 Parkview Drive
Travis Sample spoke on his parents behalf. Mr. Sample thanked the board for their time and shared some family background. His parents moved to New Whiteland in 1964, they have lived in four different houses and raised four sons. Ten years ago his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s which requires additional care. Travis and his wife are volunteering to move from Illinois to Indiana in order to care for his parents. The current house is around 900 square feet and they cannot adjust the interior of the house to fit their needs. It will be hard to meet the needs of his parents without a variance, due to the property line and required setbacks.
Laura motioned to grant the variance. Chip seconded the motion. Vote was 4 affirmative.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:
There were no comments or questions.
Rudy motioned to adjourn the meeting. Chip seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:55pm.
Respectfully submitted:
Cindy Yates
