Marketing

Patti Wade and Maribeth met with Red Line Graphics on October 25th.  Maribeth distributes some promotional item quotes that they emailed over earlier today.  She also passes out sample logo selections they sent over.  Maribeth has requested a sample logo with the tri-folded flag that was discussed in out last committee and in our preliminary meeting with Red Line Graphics.  Committee decides to wait for the requested graphic before discussing possible promotional items.  Maribeth adds that red Line Graphics has agreed to donate a flier for one of our fundraiser events.  Patti & Maribeth are meeting with the Daily Journal to discuss advertising options and costs on November 8th.

Veterans Day Programs

Maribeth will be making Proctor Park presentations at the WCHS program on Friday, November 9th at 9:30 and again on Saturday, November 10th at the County Veterans Day Program at the Johnson County Museum from 1:00 until 3:00.  The results of the Jar Wars competition will be announced during the program on Friday.  Patti Wade has been counting all the change donated by the students – Maribeth thanks Patti and MainSource Bank as well as the Public Works employees for picking up all the change each day.

Donations

Maribeth met with James “Gonzo” Schatz and his boss, Brad Poynter, of Fieldstone Center of Indy on Monday.  They are donating the rest of the stone that we need for the water feature at the park.  They are also donating eight (8) limestone benches 6 ft long by 24” wide and 18” in height.  Gonzo lives in Whiteland and is very active in the baseball program.  He was trained as a chef and has offered to cook for us if we plan a fundraiser with food.  Gonzo brings a sample replica of the benches to the meeting and is welcomed and thanked by the committee.  The committee discusses cost for the benches if a family would wish to purchase one to have sandblasted.  Preliminary discussion is $1,000 plus the cost of engraving.  Maribeth will try to get cost information on engraving.

Meeting Schedule

Our next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, November 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Meeting Room here at the Town Hall.  Committee decides that Wednesday is the night that works best for the majority.

Pacers

Darla Jo Parker, Ticket Service Coordinator for the Indiana Pacers arrives.  Darla Jo has been working with us to try and help us raise awareness and funds for our project.  Darla announces that the Indiana Pacers will honor Sgt. Joseph E. Proctor as an Indiana Hero at their game against the Chicago Bulls on December 12, 2007.  That night will also be a Community Night for Proctor Park and we can encourage people to purchase tickets using the code word Proctor.  For each ticket sold we will also receive a $6 donation for the park.  Darla will provide us with some fliers and we will need to approach area printers to see if we could get some copies donated.  We need to get this information in the school newsletters and take home folders.  Also get fliers posted in area businesses.

Being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Maribeth Alspach
