Boil Water Advisories

·         Indiana American Water in Johnson County – no boil emergency

·         Whiteland Water – no boil advisory

·         All other water utilities are still under a 5-10 minute boil advisory for cooking and drinking, including Hensley Township clients of Brown County Water Utility

 

Health

·         Franklin Health Department – will be offering free tetanus shots to victims and volunteers

o       Wednesday, June 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

o       Temporarily located in parking lot across from the Willard – corner of Main St. and Meridian St.

 

Miscellaneous

·         Franklin Residents - please continue to put trash on sidewalks for trash pick-up.  Please do not put trash under trees as the trash trucks cannot pick up the items in these locations.

·         All other Johnson County residents – please contact your trash pick-up companies to verify details about pick-up

·         Veterans affected by the flood – you may call the Office of Veterans Affairs at (317) 346-4563 for assistance

·         Unemployment benefits – Individuals whose work place has been shut down due to flooding or if an individual cannot get to work because of washed out roads may be eligible for unemployment benefits

·         Residents with Cerebral Palsy – if you are in need of replacement equipment because of the flood, please contact the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Indiana, Inc. to apply for emergency assistance

·         Free Showers for residents with no hot water – Anytime Fitness is offering free showers to any residents without hot water.  They are providing hot water and soap, but residents must bring their own towels.

·         Pet Shelter – If you have a pet that you need to be housed until you are able to find a place for them, please call the Humane Society of Johnson County

o       The humane society cannot house the animals, but are working with local kennels to find temporary homes

·         Community Church of Greenwood – In need of blankets, towels, food and cleaning supplies (bleach, gloves, etc.)

·         Toys for children who were affected by the flood – WIC and Franklin Community High School  Key Club are collecting new stuffed animals to donate to children in the Johnson County area
